Going into planning the wedding we thought we have a pretty strict, realistic budget, but now looking back, how could it have been realistic? We had yet to really look at the prices of all of the nitty-gritty details that get you. Sure, in the beginning we were very conscious about picking a venue that had low food and beverage minimums and relaxed policies. We chose to spend money on were where it was important to us; the photography, Ryan’s custom tux, etc.. Now, as the “big stuff” is all booked, we are focusing on the details: chairs, napkins, centerpieces. These all add up in a big way that we were not completely ready for. “Oh, you would like that piece of tulle draped from the ceiling? That would be another $990.”
