Life has been pretty crazy the last few months. I got a new job at the end of August and was thrown into this world I knew very little about, into the busiest time of year. It was a whirlwind, I laughed, I cried, I cried some more. Slowly the new job is starting to feel like home, which I am welcoming with open arms, as it has been a difficult four months.
Fashion took a backseat to the stress of my new career, which does not help creativity flow in the morning as I stood in front of the closet. A majority of the mornings, I pulled out my Banana Republic black pants and a boyfriend fit shirt. Now that I am out of the thick of it, I can slow down, absorb some of the information that was thrown at me during the holidays and yes, get the creativity flowing through my veins again and maybe even slip on a dress in the morning.
I have gained amazing experience and have definitely grown my portfolio. I was able to assist in styling the kickoff event to the Art + Style Series at Mall of America Fall Fashion LIVE!, a transit fashion show that traveled to the heart of Minneapolis. Check out some of the shots here! Then I styled four Minnesota Vikings/Mall of America ads, which included Minnesota Vikings’ Cheerleaders, Matt Asiata’s children and Charles Johnson’s wife and children. See some of the final shots on @VikingsPromos via twitter. I rounded out the year by styling a video GIF shoot for Mall of America’s Gift Guide, along with styling some of the lay down product.
I feel so incredibly lucky for all of the opportunities that have been given to me in this last year and I am excited to see what 2016 brings.
