Jacket: A New Day, Target (exact) | Shirt: old, Banana Republic (similar) | Skirt: old, Christopher & Banks (similar, and a perfect fall verison) | Sandals: Merona, Target (exact) | Necklace: old (similar)
How do I mix patterns without looking like I lost my mind? Without jumping into too many things right off the bat, I think it boils down to one thing: confidence. If you look like you know what you are doing, people will believe somehow it’s “fashion” and you’re not crazy. If you think, that hot pink polka-dot top goes with the blue gingham skirt, then wear it and strut like you just saw that shit in Vogue.
Once you have the confidence to start mixing prints in your wardrobe, there are a few basics you should have in your back pocket. Scale, color and balance. These three little words will help you start pairing prints and just maybe J. Crew will be calling you to put together their next lookbook.
