5 Fashion Essentials for Winter

Ll Bean Boots

These boots are such a mainstay in anyone’s wardrobe who is battling more than one season each year. Bean Boots are water-resistant, with a rubber sole and leather upper and just scream east coast prep school. I have had my Bean Boots for almost two years and I love them for multiple reasons. The functionality of them is on the top of the list. Because of the cold winters here in Minnesota, I thought it was best to purchased the boots with thinsulate. This give me a little extra warmth which is a big plus.

Indoor/Outdoor Scarf

I know I cannot be the only way who feels this way, but when I throw on a scarf I immediately feel more chic. Then, if I throw my hair up into a top knot, I feel very artsy. A lot of my scarves, I put on to battle the outdoors, but then never take them off once indoors, which is why a scarf that can transition from outdoor functionality to indoor fashion is a must have winter piece. One of my favorites is a Banana Republic grey, tan, and cream that Ryan gave me for Christmas a few years ago. The weight is great while out running errands and jump in and out of the car, yet isn’t too bulky when I get inside.

Chunky Wool Socks

Chunky socks was never a go to for me until I purchased the Bean Boots. Now, I have multiple pairs that I not only mix with the Bean Boots, but also with ankle rain boots. I have a few different brands and colors of wool socks, but look for a marble pattern and a higher cut, so you can scrunch them down.

Quilted Vest

Another item that I have just grown to love is a quilted vest. I often reach for a vest whether it be with with denim or a dress. I have found that Old Navy continues to offer a classic quilted vests in a variety of colors each season. Of course, J.Crew offers the same, but if you are looking to introduce these into your wardrobe at a great price, Old Navy is your place to go.

Crew Neck Sweatshirt

Ah the crew neck sweater. I don’t know if it is my age, but my love affair with crew neck sweatshirt runs deep. Old Navy is my absolute go-to when it comes to crew neck sweatshirts. They are incredible affordable, soft, and wash oh so well. You will not regret picking up one or two of these.
