When it comes to patterns, gingham is one of my favorites. Incredibly preppy and retro, all while being a timeless style. Stock up at the end of each season, because this pattern isn’t going anywhere. You will see it continue to pop up in retail year after year.
I picked up this red gingham skirt up at a consignment store in the dead of winter for $10. I knew it was a deal. Not only, because of the price, but because of gingham being a mainstay in any warm weather wardrobe. Plus, the length is appropriate for any age and any occasion.
Below I highlighted some of my favorite gingham pieces this season. The Banana Republic top is something you will be able to easily transition into the cooler months. It is a thicker textured tweed which makes it not only summer appropriate, but also fall. Once the cooler temps hit and bare arms aren’t cutting it anymore, throw on a Bordeaux colored cardigan or for a fun play-on-pattern, a micro polka dot jacket.
