Life: A Change in Pace

A year ago, I made a career move that I thought would be the best decision for my fashion interests. Little did I know that it would take me into one of the most difficult years I have ever experienced. After feeling emotionally battered everyday for just shy of a year, I made the decision to leave the company and the culture I thought would be my dream. I felt unwelcome, unappreciated, and insignificant at every turn. For 326 days, I allowed others to make me feel this way. Three hundred and twenty-six painful days, where the feeling I had not only affected me in the workplace, but also bled into my personal life; some times even making it hard to enjoy things I used to.

I had to put my big girl pants on and weigh the pros with the cons. I knew it wasn’t worth my sanity. Four weeks ago, I said goodbye to what I thought was my “dream job” and accepted a new position with my previous company. After taking three weeks off, I am now back at my old company, at my old desk, with my old coworkers, and it feels amazing.

Not everyone is brave enough to dig deep, and change a decision they made. Sounds like you are taking care of yourself, and being true to yourself, good for you! So I say congrats on the move, and making this decision!
