If there is anything that makes me feel like an adult, its a budget. Gone are the days going to the store and spending my life savings on the latest Barbie doll. Instead, the idea of where the money for the new roof is, is in the front of both Ryan and I’s minds. Budget. The word just brings to mind boring lives, rice and beans, and no cable. Sounds incredibly painful.
So, in walks the idea of a practical, livable budget. I did a lot of research on what “type” budget would be right for us. Where exactly did we want to make cuts at? Were we willing to say goodbye to cable/internet? What about eating out? At the end of the day, we had to figure out what our “nonnegotiable” were.
We both decided the easiest place to make the cuts, without a major lifestyle change would be cutting back on eating out and the grocery bill. I found that the blog, Don’t Waste the Crumbs is incredibly helpful! Tiffany, the blog creator and editor has amazing monthly food plan that are under $330! Yes, that is right she feeds a family of four on $330 a month. Should be easy for Ryan and I, right?
